Paragliding Takes Flight for the First Time in Hoi An, Quang Nam

Hoi An’s skies are filled with colorful paragliders as the “Sky Connection” Paragliding Show & Competition officially launched on June 5, 2025. This event, part of the Quang Nam Cultural, Sports and Tourism Days 2025, marks a bold step in turning the province into a hub for adventure tourism.

Organized by the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the competition brings together 31 skilled pilots, including 10 international participants from Thailand, Laos, Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand, along with 21 Vietnamese pilots representing paragliding clubs across the country.

The paragliding route offers spectacular views, taking off from Con Nam Ngan in Cam Nam Ward, flying over Bay Mau Coconut Forest, skimming the sandbanks of Cua Dai, gliding along An Bang Beach, sweeping past the rice fields of Tra Que Village, and returning toward Hoi An Impression Theme Park before landing at Con Nam Ngan.

A highlight of the show is a team formation of motor-powered paragliders carrying the Vietnamese national flag, creating a visually stunning and patriotic display.

The aerial performances continue through June 6, followed by a closing ceremony and certificate presentation during the opening night of the Quang Nam Cultural, Sports and Tourism Days 2025. This event connects the beauty of Vietnam’s skies with its rich culture and heritage, offering a thrilling experience for both participants and spectators.
