Nine Days of Renewal and Transformation at JW Marriott Phu Quoc
During the Lunar New Year season this year, JW Marriott Phu Quoc introduces a nine day festive journey under the theme Blooming Season. The program features a carefully curated series of cultural, culinary and wellness experiences, thoughtfully designed for guests choosing to stay at the resort during this special time of year.
Recently named among the Top 5 Best Resorts in Asia by Condé Nast Traveler, JW Marriott Phu Quoc is renowned for its ability to infuse contemporary sensibilities into traditional values, transforming each festive season into a deeply immersive experience. Set within the iconic Lamarck University architecture by resort visionary Bill Bensley, Lunar New Year here is not simply a celebration of time’s passage, but a journey of renewal. As nature shifts and blossoms, so too does the body and mind find space to rebalance and embrace meaningful new beginnings.
Inspired by Lich Xuan, the first breath of spring, and coinciding with Valentine’s Day, the festive season at JW Marriott Phu Quoc weaves together long standing traditions and modern rhythms. Guests are invited to welcome the New Year in a gentler way through refined cuisine, restorative rituals or quiet moments spent by the emerald waters of the bay.
Three chapters of spring awakening
The Blooming Season unfolds through the idea of awakening, expressed across three experiential chapters that shape each guest’s personal journey. Chapter One Nature in Transition invites guests to sense the subtle transformation of the natural world through the resort’s lush landscapes, from the JW Garden to the iconic Khem Beach, where vegetation, open space and ocean signals the arrival of spring.
Chapter Two Body Reborn focuses on physical renewal. As guests align with nature’s rhythm, the body is gently reenergised through spa therapies and light wellness activities designed to relax, release and restore vitality.
Completing the journey is Chapter Three Mind in Bloom, where inner calm takes centre stage. Through moments of stillness, meditation, breathwork and symbolic rituals, guests are guided toward mental clarity and a meaningful sense of renewal.
Lich Xuan The first breath of spring
Taking place on February 4, Lich Xuan marks the opening of the Lunar New Year season at JW Marriott Phu Quoc. Rather than a formal ceremony, it represents a subtle shift in atmosphere and awareness, as festive excitement gives way to balance, tranquillity and rebirth.
At the JW Garden, the all day Lich Xuan experience combines nature based wellness activities with an intimate garden gathering. Wellness moments are interwoven with seasonal culinary creations by Chef Olivier Elzer, celebrated for his thirty Michelin stars. Drawing inspiration from spring ingredients, the menu reflects a spirit of sharing and renewal, setting the foundation for the Blooming Season by reconnecting people with nature and welcoming the year ahead through simple yet meaningful pleasures.
Festive yet unhurried
Throughout the season, the resort is filled with vibrant Lunar New Year energy while maintaining its signature sense of calm. A highlight is Lamarck House, the resort’s most expansive and private seven bedroom residence, designed for guests seeking complete seclusion and the highest level of personalised experience. Inspired by classic French design, the residence features generous living spaces, a private garden and an infinity pool overlooking the sea, offering the feeling of owning a private mansion by the bay. The Lamarck House All Inclusive Experience elevates the stay with complimentary spa treatments, a private BBQ at the residence, flexible check in and check out privileges and private airport transfers, delivering a fully tailored and seamless holiday.
At Tempus Fugit restaurant, Vietnamese Lunar New Year flavours are reimagined through a seasonal menu that honours traditional dishes with refined culinary techniques. Meanwhile, Place de Lamarck, the resort’s central square, comes alive with the Oriental Night Market and the Flavours of the East buffet, showcasing culinary highlights from Korea, China and Vietnam against the signature turquoise backdrop of the bay. Traditional lion and dragon dances complete the festive atmosphere, carrying wishes of good fortune into the New Year.
Cultural activities take place throughout the season, with calligraphy and traditional toy making offering families a chance to connect with heritage and shared memories.
Spring flavours by the sea
Along the shoreline, Red Rum restaurant embodies the energetic spirit of the festive season. Signature experiences include the Tides and Fire BBQ nights, playful concepts such as Chimaek by the Sea pairing Korean fried chicken with SunKraft beer, and the vibrant Brazil Festival BBQ inspired by Latin American flavours.
For a softer pace, French and Co presents the Spring Festival Afternoon Tea, featuring delicate pastries and fragrant teas inspired by the season. The patisserie also introduces a limited edition Lunar New Year hamper in collaboration with Dilmah Tea and Annam Gourmet, ideal as an elegant gift or to enjoy in villa. At the Department of Chemistry bar, a limited edition collection of festive cocktails captures the colours, aromas and symbolism of spring.
Valentine’s Day A gentle expression of the season
As Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day converge, the festive season becomes richer and more emotionally resonant. At Red Rum, romance is relaxed and intimate, with candlelit tables by the sea, soft ocean breezes and a specially curated menu served beside glowing embers.
At Pink Pearl by Olivier E., romance takes on a refined artistic tone within the iconic pink mansion. The Pink Valentine with Taittinger experience pairs exquisite French cuisine with premium champagne, live classical music and the ambience of a classic European salon. Adding depth to the theme of Blooming, eight one of a kind orchid creations by Aapis Flower artisans are showcased, each reflecting vitality, transformation and the harmony between pure nature and the radiant beauty of the human spirit.
Wellness A declaration for the new year
At Chanterelle Spa by JW, Lunar New Year is a time for restoration and balance. Treatments are designed to heal and rejuvenate, from the Soft Beginning Ritual Awakening of the Spirit featuring a warm floral bath in a VIP treatment room combined with Authentic Vibration Therapy, to the Blooming Renewal Ritual, a comprehensive journey using floral therapies, herbal mushroom massage and rose infused facial care. The experience concludes with the Symphony Glow Facial by Anne Semonin, leaving the skin luminous and refreshed, ready to welcome the year ahead with renewed energy.
