Historical Significance
Built in 1902, Hai Phong Railway Station is one of the oldest and most historically significant stations in the railway sector. On October 21, 1946, a train departing from this station brought President Ho Chi Minh back to Hanoi after attending the Fontainebleau Conference in France. Since then, October 21 has been celebrated as the Traditional Day of Vietnam Railways.
With its classic French architecture, Hai Phong Railway Station serves not only as a transport hub but also as a historic, cultural, and artistic landmark tied to the development of the port city.
A Symbol of Culture and Tourism
The recognition of Hai Phong Railway Station as a "Tourist Destination" honors the heritage that preserves the historical and cultural marks of the city. It emphasizes that the station is not just a place for passengers to board and alight but also a cultural meeting point and a gateway to exploring the beauty and famous cuisine of the city of red flamboyant flowers.
Launch of the "Hoa Phuong Do" Tourist Train
During the event, the high-quality "Hoa Phuong Do" train was officially launched. For the first time, the railway sector introduced a VIP carriage with 34 seats, designed in an Indochine style. The 56-seat carriages are equipped with new-generation seats that can rotate 180 degrees. All carriages feature spacious washbasin areas, modern and clean restrooms. Additionally, there are 64 standard seats with flexible ticket pricing to meet various travel needs.
