Hanoi Accelerates Tourism Promotion in 2025

In an effort to attract more tourists to the capital, the Hanoi People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 124/KH-UBND to stimulate tourism in Hanoi for 2025.

Accordingly, Hanoi aims to welcome 31 million visitors in 2025, including 7.5 million international arrivals. The total revenue from tourism is expected to reach approximately VND 130,000 billion, contributing to the city's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) by 8% or more.

Strategic Measures to Boost Tourism

To achieve these ambitious targets, from now until the end of 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee has assigned the Hanoi Department of Tourism to focus on developing domestic tourism promotion programs and packages. Additionally, it will collaborate with various units to organize the program "Hanoians and Visitors Experience 4-5 Star Hotel Services" in association with the campaign "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods."

Furthermore, Hanoi will organize special promotional tours connecting inner-city attractions, while also encouraging travel and transport businesses to implement discount packages and improve service quality. Major cultural and tourism events are also planned, including the Tourism Gift Festival, Ao Dai Tourism Festival, Tourism Festival, and the Autumn Festival.

Strengthening National and International Connections

Alongside organizing events, Hanoi will strengthen connections with other capitals from key markets and partner localities. It will host forums to attract international visitors and develop tourism products in collaboration with major tourist destinations across the country. To enhance the city’s image, Hanoi will promote tourism through both domestic and international channels, participate in key tourism programs in major cities, and actively engage in National Tourism Year 2025 activities held in Hue. Additionally, Hanoi will highlight the cultural heritage of craft villages through various events.

For the international market, Hanoi plans to organize promotional events showcasing Vietnamese tourism in France, Italy, and Switzerland. It will participate in major international tourism fairs, such as ITB ASIA 2025 in Singapore, IMEX Frankfurt 2025 in Germany, Tourism Expo Japan 2025 in Japan, and FTM Top Resa 2025 in France. Moreover, Hanoi will collaborate with airlines to attract international visitors and welcome FAMTRIP and PRESSTRIP delegations to explore the city’s tourism products, craft villages, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) initiatives.

Digital Transformation and Tourism Promotion

The Hanoi Department of Tourism will work with media agencies to promote tourism through national and local press outlets. It will develop and manage digital platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok, to promote Hanoi tourism. Additionally, the city will advertise its attractions on Vietnam Airlines flights, publish tourism brochures, and organize the "Beautiful Hanoi Tourism Photos" contest in celebration of the 65th Anniversary of Vietnamese Tourism.

Particularly, Hanoi will push digital transformation by applying information technology in administrative reforms, building smart interpretation systems, and digitizing tourism sites, service facilities, and market data. The collected data will be integrated into a centralized management system, applying AI in tourism promotion, and supporting businesses to develop high-tech products such as 3D and virtual reality experiences.

Ensuring a Safe, Friendly, and Civilized Tourism Environment

To create a secure, friendly, and civilized tourism environment, Hanoi will set up information booths to assist tourists in the Old Quarter of Hoan Kiem and other key tourist areas. The city will also conduct post-service inspections, ensure public safety, and maintain environmental hygiene to provide a welcoming experience for both domestic and international visitors.
