Etihad Airways Launches New Route to Hanoi

Etihad Airways has officially launched its new service to Hanoi after the inaugural flight landed on 2 November 2025. The new route reflects a strong year of growth for the airline and responds to rising travel demand and increasing interest in Abu Dhabi from international visitors. The connection offers travellers from both countries an accessible option for business trips and holidays.

Opening New Travel Opportunities Between Hanoi and the UAE
The Hanoi to Abu Dhabi service is operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the world’s most advanced and fuel efficient aircraft. The aircraft is designed to enhance comfort on long haul journeys. Business Studio offers fully flat seats with privacy and direct aisle access while Economy Smart provides generous legroom, adjustable headrests and a modern entertainment system.

These features are complemented by award winning inflight entertainment, Wi Fi service and attentive onboard hospitality that ensures a comfortable and premium travel experience.

Etihad Airways’ CEO Antonoaldo Neves shared that the airline is pleased to welcome travellers from Vietnam to Abu Dhabi and views Hanoi as a vibrant and diverse gateway in Asia. He emphasised the growing connections in tourism, trade and cultural exchange between Hanoi and the UAE and highlighted the opportunities this route will create across Southeast Asia.

Abu Dhabi’s Position as a Leading Global Destination
The new route also gives travellers from Vietnam convenient access to Abu Dhabi, recognised as one of the world’s most dynamic destinations. The capital of the UAE brings together culture, innovation and hospitality. Visitors can explore landmark attractions including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island’s entertainment complexes, unspoiled beaches and luxury resorts.

With six flights every week, the new service strengthens Etihad’s global network. Over the past year the airline has added 31 new destinations. Together with recent routes such as Chiang Mai and Hong Kong, the Hanoi to Abu Dhabi connection supports cultural and economic links between the UAE and major hubs across Asia. The addition of Hanoi brings Etihad’s total network close to 100 destinations.

Travellers can access a wide range of cultural sites, international resorts and year round events, along with seamless connections to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and North America. The route also encourages more visitors from the UAE and other markets to discover Vietnam, known for its natural landscapes, diverse cuisine and rich heritage.

A Strategic Route for Etihad Cargo
Etihad Cargo has been active in Vietnam for over eleven years and currently operates five weekly Boeing 777 Freighter flights to Hanoi. The new passenger service increases belly hold capacity and supports Vietnam’s key export sectors including electronics, textiles, seafood and agriculture. It also facilitates the import of high value goods from the UAE and other regions.

Leveraging Abu Dhabi’s global logistics hub, Etihad Cargo will connect Hanoi with an extensive international network with faster transit times, strong reliability and capacity for sensitive and high value shipments. This development reinforces Etihad’s role in enabling global trade with trusted logistics services.

Etihad Guest Welcomes the New Route
To celebrate the route launch, Etihad Guest is offering a special promotion for new members in Vietnam. Customers who register from 3 to 30 November 2025 will receive an immediate upgrade to Etihad Guest Gold. Members must book and fly within six months of registration to maintain Gold status for the following year for Business fares and Silver status for Economy fares. Benefits include priority access to premium lounges and additional baggage allowance.

The promotion is part of Etihad’s partnership with Vietnam Airlines in the loyalty program sector, expanding benefits for members of both airlines. The route launch is also included in The Extraordinary Challenge, giving participating members a chance to win up to five million Etihad Guest Miles.
