Tuyen Quang Approves the Outline for Its Tourism Development Masterplan to 2035 with Vision to 2045

The People’s Committee of Tuyen Quang Province has approved the outline for its Tourism Development Masterplan to 2035 with a vision to 2045. This document will guide the province in shaping a comprehensive strategy that positions tourism as a key economic sector and a driving force for green growth and sustainable development.

The Masterplan covers the entire provincial administrative boundary after the administrative reorganisation under Resolution 202/2025/QH15, with a total natural area of more than 13,795 square kilometres. It also expands its research scope to neighbouring provinces such as Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen and Phu Tho to ensure regional connectivity and consistency in tourism development. This approach supports a comprehensive assessment that aligns with local socio-economic conditions and practical needs.

The plan’s overarching goal is to align Tuyen Quang’s tourism development with national and regional planning, as well as the orientations defined by the central government. It emphasises the province’s strengths and potential and links tourism growth with national target programmes on poverty reduction, rural development and sustainable socio-economic progress.

The Masterplan will evaluate the province’s tourism potential, strengths and development status during 2018 to 2025. It will also define development viewpoints, objectives and indicators for the 2026 to 2035 period with a vision to 2045. Based on these foundations, the plan will outline key strategic directions including green tourism, heritage and cultural industry-based tourism, destination branding, high-quality human resources development and effective destination management solutions.

The plan identifies core tourism products that highlight the unique value of each region. It encourages strong development of eco-tourism, community-based tourism, historical and revolutionary tourism, festival tourism and ethnic cultural experiences. At the same time, it prioritises investment in infrastructure, accommodation, connectivity and service facilities to ensure quality standards and environmental sustainability at major tourism sites.

A notable component of the Masterplan is the development of an innovation framework for tourism in Tuyen Quang. This includes distinctive models and signature products that can enhance the province’s tourism identity. The plan also proposes a list of priority programmes and projects for 2026 to 2035, with clear objectives, scale and funding mechanisms that encourage public–private partnerships and investment mobilisation.

Funding for the Masterplan will come from the State budget allocated to the Tuyen Quang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2025 and 2026. The implementation timeline will not exceed six months from the approval of the outline.

The approval of this Masterplan outline marks a crucial step for Tuyen Quang. It forms the scientific and legal foundation needed to develop a coordinated and professional tourism strategy, strengthening the province’s position as a leading destination in the northern midlands and mountainous region.
