Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum Launches New Nighttime Art Experience
On the evening of 31 October 2025, the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum officially introduced a new cultural tourism product called “Museum Night”. This is the first nighttime art experience ever hosted at the museum, creating an inspiring new space for residents of Hanoi and international visitors to explore Vietnamese fine arts after dark.
The museum’s glowing nighttime ambiance sets the tone for an immersive cultural journey. “Museum Night” is part of Hanoi’s initiative to expand its cultural and creative industries. The program is co organised by the community brand “Stories of Hanoi” and the cultural project group “Hanoi FM” through a flexible public private partnership model. This collaboration represents a modern approach that brings together creative resources to serve the community more effectively.
Visitors can enjoy free movement throughout the exhibition system with the iMuseum VFA audio guide, observe artists sketching in real time, and participate in hands on activities such as woodblock printing, sketching or crafting paper dó lanterns. They are also able to meet experts and researchers for in depth storytelling about nine national treasures along with many valuable artworks that reflect the richness of Vietnamese fine arts.
The evening space also features artistic exchanges, poetry and music performances, and instrumental showcases presented by the Vietnam National Academy of Music. These moments create a meaningful connection between the audience and the world of art. Visitors can purchase souvenirs at LaArt and enjoy food and beverages at LêArt with exclusive promotions, completing a well rounded experience for both emotions and senses.
A signature element of “Museum Night” is its rotating monthly theme. Each theme reflects the seasonal rhythm of Hanoi and offers visitors a fresh experience every time. This concept transforms the museum into a vibrant cultural meeting point that feels familiar yet always renewed, making art more accessible and engaging for the public.
According to Director Nguyễn Anh Minh, the launch of “Museum Night” aims not only to provide a new form of cultural experience but also to expand educational activities and encourage the public to interact with fine arts in diverse ways. Through this initiative, the museum seeks to build an open cultural environment where art becomes a natural part of the community while also contributing to the growth of cultural tourism and nighttime tourism in Hanoi and across Vietnam.
This new nighttime art product marks a significant step in the museum’s journey toward innovation, social connection and heritage promotion through contemporary and creative approaches. The collaboration with “Stories of Hanoi”, a media platform with more than 2.5 million followers, and “Hanoi FM”, a collective of young artists with impactful cultural projects, reflects an inclusive spirit that empowers the youth and harnesses community creativity. This public private partnership helps mobilise social resources and brings shared cultural value to the public.
With strong investment in both concept and experience design, “Museum Night” is expected to become a standout nighttime tourism product and contribute to Vietnam’s growing creative economy. The pilot phase runs from October 2025 to March 2026 on the last Friday evening of each month, featuring seasonal themes including Enchanting Autumn on 31 October 2025, Winter Tales on 28 November 2025 and December Nostalgia on 26 December 2025.
