Khanh Hoa promotes the multi-purpose usefulness of forest ecosystems.
Khanh Hoa is rich in diverse forest ecosystems both on land and underwater. The provincial government has launched a project to enhance the multi-use value of forests by 2030 with a vision extending to 2050.
The province currently manages over 244,605 hectares of forest, including special-use, protection, and production forests, alongside land designated for other forest types. Various forest economic development models are being implemented to support sustainable growth and maximize both economic and environmental benefits.
Forest environmental services cover 151,520 hectares, managed by organizations, commune-level committees, and thousands of households, supplying water, hydropower, and tourism units while generating revenue for forest protection and development.
Sustainable forest management requires prioritizing forestry economics, yet challenges remain in developing a viable forest economy. The Provincial People's Committee continues to promote the multi-use forest project, aiming to secure long-term benefits for the province by 2050.
