A Two-Michelin-Star Kyoto Culinary Experience at Le Beaulieu

Continuing the renowned “Rendez-vous” – Culinary Encounters series at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, the celebrated French fine dining restaurant Le Beaulieu will host a special collaboration at the end of October. The event welcomes Japanese Chef Takagi Kazuo from Kyoto TAKAGI, a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Japan, joining forces with Le Beaulieu’s talented Executive Chef Charles Degrendele to present a masterful culinary encounter between Kyoto’s traditional Kyo-ryori and classic French gastronomy.
A Refined Culinary Dialogue
Chef Takagi, who has led Kyoto TAKAGI to maintain its two-Michelin-star status for 15 consecutive years, is revered as a master of Kyo-ryori, Kyoto’s most refined culinary tradition, known for its harmony, balance, and artistry. Every detail, from presentation to flavor layers, reflects an aesthetic philosophy that turns cuisine into an art form.
Together with Chef Charles, Chef Takagi will curate an exquisite menu where the elegance of Kyoto cuisine meets the sophistication of French culinary craftsmanship. The four-hands dinner will feature dishes such as Tuna and Salmon Rice Balls with Dill, Vietnamese Crab with Hokkaido Scallops and Vegetable Broth, French Chicken with Smoked Potatoes and Albufeira-style Sauce, Wagyu Tenderloin with Young Bamboo and Japanese Pepper Sauce, and a refined dessert of Îles Flottante with vanilla custard, baked meringue, and salted caramel.
An Evening of Haute Cuisine
The special dinners will take place on October 31 and November 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Le Beaulieu. The exclusive “four-hands” tasting menu is priced at VND 4,500,000 per person, or VND 7,000,000 per person with wine pairing. All Accor+ Explorer members will receive a 10% discount on the menu and 15% on the wine pairing option.
As one of Hanoi’s most iconic dining institutions for over 124 years, Le Beaulieu offers a contemporary French fine dining experience infused with classic elegance. The restaurant is celebrated for its refined presentation and the use of premium seasonal ingredients sourced from France, Vietnam, and beyond.
The Rendez-vous Culinary Series
Since its debut in May 2024, the Rendez-vous – Culinary Encounters series has established itself as one of Hanoi’s most prestigious gastronomic events. Each edition invites Michelin-starred guest chefs from around the world to collaborate with Chef Charles Degrendele, creating one-of-a-kind culinary experiences for discerning diners.
Earlier this month, the prestigious MICHELIN Guide unveiled its first list of hotels in Vietnam to receive the coveted MICHELIN Key recognition. Among only 13 properties nationwide, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was honored for its timeless heritage and exceptional service.
The MICHELIN Guide notes: “Not every hotel truly deserves the title ‘legend,’ but Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi certainly does. While some properties preserve their early 1900s façades, few evoke the feeling of traveling through time as elegantly and vividly as this one.”
It adds, “At the Metropole, guests can indulge in diverse culinary experiences, and Le Beaulieu, with its sophisticated contemporary French cuisine, stands as one of the hotel’s most defining symbols.”
With limited seating available, reservations are highly recommended for this exclusive two-Michelin-star Kyoto dining event at Le Beaulieu, where East meets West in a symphony of flavor, artistry, and tradition.
