Vietnam Debuts Michelin Keys with 13 Distinguished Hotels

Following its success in the culinary scene, Vietnam’s hospitality industry has officially entered the global spotlight with the introduction of the Michelin Keys distinction. The country’s first-ever Michelin Keys list was unveiled last weekend, offering travelers an exceptional guide to the finest stays for the upcoming festive and spring-summer seasons. Much like the Michelin Stars that honor culinary excellence, Michelin Keys celebrate outstanding hotels based on a meticulous evaluation process, recognizing those that deliver superior guest experiences and a deep sense of place.

A Remarkable Debut for Vietnam’s Hospitality Scene
Vietnam’s inaugural appearance in the Michelin Keys list is impressive, with 13 hotels honored across the three-tier recognition system. This milestone highlights the country’s rising stature in global tourism and its growing reputation for world-class hospitality. The selected properties span the nation’s most celebrated destinations, from the misty mountains of Sa Pa to the sun-drenched shores of Phu Quoc and Con Dao, showcasing Vietnam’s architectural diversity and commitment to sustainable and boutique-style accommodations.

According to Michelin, the distinction is based on five key criteria that shape an exceptional hotel experience: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, character and personality, value for money, and the property’s potential to become a destination in itself. Unsurprisingly, many of Vietnam’s most distinctive hotels that blend cultural authenticity with design excellence made the list, including Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, Capella Hanoi, and Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery.

Celebrating Excellence Across the Country
Hotels awarded One Michelin Key are recognized for delivering a truly special stay. Vietnam’s recipients in this category include Azerai Ke Ga Bay in Binh Thuan, Legacy Cruises Mekong in Can Tho, Six Senses Con Dao in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, Park Hyatt Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay in Khanh Hoa, Regent Phu Quoc in Kien Giang, and Hotel de la Coupole – MGallery in Lao Cai.

Those achieving Two Michelin Keys are celebrated for offering an exceptional guest experience characterized by refined design, flawless comfort, and genuine hospitality. Vietnam’s honorees in this category include Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai in Da Nang, Banyan Tree Lang Co in Thua Thien Hue, and Zannier Hotels Bãi San Hô.

At the pinnacle of recognition, Three Michelin Keys represent an extraordinary stay that sets the global benchmark for luxury and service. Two Vietnamese properties achieved this highest honor: Capella Hanoi and Amanoi. Capella Hanoi stands out as a boutique masterpiece envisioned by renowned designer Bill Bensley, blending artistic architecture with a captivating culinary identity. Amanoi, part of the world-renowned Aman Resorts, exemplifies the brand’s signature harmony between opulence, nature, and serenity.

A New Chapter for Vietnam’s Luxury Tourism
The arrival of Michelin Keys in Vietnam marks a defining moment for the country’s hospitality landscape. It not only underscores the nation’s commitment to excellence but also positions Vietnam as one of Asia’s most compelling destinations for high-end travelers seeking authenticity, design, and service that transcend expectations.

From tranquil bays and mountain retreats to heritage-inspired urban icons, each recognized property tells a story of Vietnam’s evolution - where cultural richness meets global sophistication in a way that is both elegant and unforgettable.
